Quick summary
Bitcoin closed near 84,800 dollars on October first, up ten percent monthly
Balances between 1,000 and 10,000 Bitcoin rose 38,000, while 100 to 1,000 fell similarly
Under 10 Bitcoin grew about 1,800 weekly, driven mainly by 1 to 10 Bitcoin holders
Exchanges saw net outflows, about 19,000 Bitcoin withdrawn over the month overall
In short: the week's largest balance moves happened in two days, while the 10–100 BTC band and exchange outflows built steadily across all seven days.
Over the seven days to October 1, the 1,000–10,000 BTC output band added 38,103 BTC, more than any other band during the week on both an absolute and a percentage basis. The 100–1,000 BTC band posted the largest decline of any band over the same period, at 36,553 BTC. Both moves were concentrated over two days, September 28 and 29, carrying the entire gain in the upper band. Labelled exchange wallets recorded a 9,625 BTC net outflow across the same week.

Table A: Bitcoin Output Balances
Output sizes do not identify owners. Splitting and consolidating coins can move balances between bands. Supply share uses the total BTC measured across these bands (≈20,092,177 BTC at D).

Table B: Exchange Activity (All-Exchange Netflow)
Metric | Latest complete day | Last 7 days | Last 30 days |
Net exchange flow, BTC | +2,357 | -9,625 | -18,997 |
Data sourced from CryptoQuant, October 01, 2026
Reading the flow number: A negative figure means more coins left labelled exchange wallets than arrived. The transfer alone does not say whether coins were bought, moved to custody or shifted between platforms.
The 30 days before (August 3 to September 1): These saw a net outflow of 11,074 BTC. The latest 30 days (September 2 to October 1) show a larger net outflow of 18,997 BTC. These are two separate, back-to-back periods, not a running total.
BTC Balance Change by Output Tier (data through Oct 1, 2026)
Week over week, the top of the distribution rearranged sharply in two days. The middle and the exchange-flow series moved in one direction on most days.
Tier | 24h change (BTC) | 7d change (BTC) | 30d change (BTC) |
Small (under 10 BTC) | +275.2 | +1,776.6 | +2,975.5 |
Mid (10–1,000 BTC) | +7,645.4 | -18,910.7 | -5,626.9 |
Large (1,000+ BTC) | -7,495.7 | +20,368.5 | +16,420.1 |

What Changed?
1,000–10,000 BTC Band Leads, 100–1,000 BTC Band Trails
1,000–10,000 BTC band: Gained 38,103 BTC (+0.90%) over seven days. It also leads the 30-day table at +26,613 BTC (+0.62%).
100–1,000 BTC band: Lost 36,553 BTC (-0.63%), the largest absolute weekly decline.
10,000+ BTC band: Lost 17,735 BTC (-1.13%), the largest weekly percentage decline.
10–100 BTC band: Gained 17,642 BTC (+0.39%), the second-largest absolute weekly gain.
Did Changes Persist?
Two Days Carried the Top-Band Gain; the 10–100 BTC Band Rose Daily
1,000–10,000 BTC band: September 28 (+39,749 BTC) and September 29 (+24,189 BTC) added 63,938 BTC. The other five days netted -25,835 BTC.
100–1,000 BTC band: The band rebuilt 46,072 BTC between September 17 and a September 27 high, reversing the decline flagged in the September 18 edition. September 28 alone then removed 41,246 BTC, more than the full weekly loss.
10–100 BTC band: Closed higher on all seven days.
Exchange flows: More coins left exchanges than arrived on five of the seven days. The week before had been the opposite, with coins flowing onto exchanges every day from September 15 to 21. That ended on September 22, when about 19,105 more BTC was withdrawn than deposited, the biggest one-day withdrawal in the 69 days reviewed. September 22 falls just outside the 7-day window, so it counts in the 30-day total but not the weekly one.
What Remains Uncertain
Same-Day Moves in Neighbouring Bands Carry No Owner Label
The September 28 pairing: The 100–1,000 BTC band fell 41,246 BTC on the same day the 1,000–10,000 BTC band rose 39,749 BTC. It could be one holder merging smaller piles of coins into a bigger one, or two unrelated moves on the same day. The data can't tell which.
Exchange outflows: Custody transfers, fund movements and wallet reshuffles all register as outflows. No purchase is confirmed by the flow alone.
What to Watch Next
Two measurable conditions will show whether the week's moves are building into a trend:
Upper band: Whether the 1,000–10,000 BTC band retains at least half of the 63,938 BTC added on September 28–29 through the October 8-30 data.
Flows and the 1–10 BTC band: Whether 7-day exchange netflow stays negative, and whether the 1–10 BTC band extends its 30-day gain beyond 4,813 BTC.
